Ok so I drove up to Andrew's house this morning because we are making a trip to Eugene to deliver parts. So anyways, I get up here, shut the Brat off and the charge light is staying on....I started it again and it went off like it should but when I shut the car off totally, it stays on. Anyone know why?

Hmmm my brat will have the light come on from the moment you turn the key off until the alternator stops spinning (afew seconds) Seems like a circuit isnt shutting off when you turn the car off is my guess... the light is getting the signal to tell you the alt isnt spinning (or is dead) of course its not spinning, the car is off

 

So I say check for any frayed wires, maybe something thats always on (like your horn or something) is giving that circuit a bad signal... thats my guess.

 

And if you didnt notice it on the other thread, help yourself to my weber jetpack, just dont take all the jets!

Well I now know why the light stays on. It lets you know that the VR is bad. I pulled off the battery cable and I heard it click. Tapped it a couple times and it still clicked when I touched the battery cable to the battery... I get to get the one from the wagon in there now....yay...

 

Oh and thanks Mike, I'm gonna go out and rejet my carb now. I'll see about getting some more jets to replace the ones I took:D

Yeah I dunno what is up.. Carrie's car, when you turn the key off it stays running and THEN everything shuts off (lights stay on and everything) after like a second or two..

well when you turn the car into the "On" position, the charge light goes off instead of bein on along with the oil light and the brake light. I can drive it but I shut it off and the charge light comes on.
