6 Lug, wheels or hubs??

Featured Replies

I like the idea of having 6 lug wheel on a sube, and I would like to do just that for my hatch. But, I really don't have the time to drill the hubs so I am looking at drilling a set of wheels to fit the 4 lug hubs. I have a set of 6 lug 14" wheels that came off of my 87 Isuzu P'up to drill. The question is this, I know I can drill the wheels, and I have access to a drill press and the correct size bit, But what kind of lug nuts are you guys using?? The holes will not have the countersunk shape for a standard lug to center up in.

Thanks

Go with the hubs. It may take a little longer to do and do right but you only have to do it once and then you have unlimited wheel options for the rest of the life of your sube. I personally think it's a stronger setup that way too...you don't see many trucks with big off road tires held on with 4 lug rims...

Well, I do plan on doing the 6 lug conversion on the hubs, but I want to get a set of hubs and rear disc set up first and do it all at once. But for now, the car just needs to get me thru winter, and the 14's I have will get me better tires. The rims are not to great to scrap if I screw it up, so I may try it.

Thanks for the replies.
