  1. Yay! Thanks! Are those more or less offset than your average impreza wheels do you know?
  2. Good info. Don't be shy with pics when you get those wheels on! Been dying to see these on a Gen 2.
  3. Cannot wait to 5 lug my little road hatch with these. Let me know when you are ready for payment!
  4. Please add me to the list too! Want 4 adapters - a full set for one car. Thanks!
  5. I put brat seatbelts in my hatch. I can't remember how, but I think I had to make a slight mod for them to work... Like they may have been mounted at a slightly different angle. Something like that. But don't quote me on it. I know I got them to work. Speaking of which, they are grey and I could actually use navy instead, so if you did want to trade, we could, but it wouldn't be til spring-ish when I take my hatch out of hibernation.
  6. HOLY CRAP! It just came to me! I know what you need to do!!! Short Bed Brat! Take the roof, back glass, bed, bed sides and tailgate from the brat and graft them onto the hatch. Do it right and it would be sick as hell and totally solid and rust-free. It has been done before. The dude I got my NOS coupe quarter panels from over ten years ago did it back in the 80s and I bet a few others on the board have too.
  7. Looks like a nice hatch! There are lots of threads on here with good pics of the usual wheel well repairs on the brat bed. Shouldn't be too hard to dig up. As for specific tips, you should snap some pics of the bad areas so we can see what you're working with. In general, just prepare for a lot of work (cutting, grinding, welding, shaping), but it'll be worth it in the end!
  8. Interesting, well if you have any other blue navy radio consoles in good shape I'd be interested in that too.
  9. That is a sweet score! Is that some kind of factory DIN stereo adapter or just a clean aftermarket install? Either way I'd be interested if you wanted to sell the radio console.
  10. Still really want to see these guys on an EA81/gen2! Wondering how they space the wheels and how they sit in the fender wells etc. Plus just think they will look sweet and want to see! Also are there still 4 left? If not, will you do another run at some point? Thanks!
  11. Don't think I had a trick to it... just chipped it off with a big screwdriver and hammer. Might have buzzed it down with a wire wheel to get the little stuck on bits after. I had a lot more free time in those days. No experience with digi-dashes myself...
  12. I've been looking... but still haven't found the exact files for the speedo and tach. I usually don't throw anything away, I still have one or two places to look...
  13. Looking like I found a good deal on a block for my Frankenmotor build... Frankie gurus, is this a good year and mileage, etc.? link below: http://burlington.craigslist.org/pts/4269422564.html
  14. IMO all the rear cubbies do is get filled with sticky garbage... but they are the perfect spot for 6x9s.
  15. I'll see if I can dig them up and make them available. Just be careful with your gauges if you try the mod. The needles don't like to come on and off too many times.
  16. Thought I'd show off my new brat and get some help spitballing for ideas when I start to build it up! It's an 84 originally from Texas. A bit of rust but really nothing compared to what I fixed on my 88 hatchback (build thread). It was a surprise present from my incredibly awesome girlfriend. Kinda cool that's it's the same color as my hatch. They will be a matched pair. Anyway, I'm thinking EJ 22/25 Frankenmotor with porting and torque cams, 5spd D/R (I have one EA-EJ adapter plate left!), 6 lugs with BFG All-terrains, 3 or 4 inch lift, rear discs... I also have a power steering rack and cross-member but I don't know if I want it for my hatch or the brat... what else... make the jump seats removable, nice thick bed-liner, new paint, maybe some custom plate bumpers with hidden winches... kinda dreaming here but it's fun to do!
  17. Very cool! Looking forward to seeing the final product.
  18. Thought I would do a couple posts on some of the detail mods I did. First was correcting the speedometer. I scanned the stock speedo face and rebuilt it adjusting for the larger tire size I would be running. I work as a graphic designer, so recreating the speedo face on the computer was easy to do. I printed it on heavy stock and then affixed it with double-sided tape to a piece of plastic I cut to size. While I was at it I upped the redline on the tach for the EJ22 I was dropping in. This was an early test with the lights on. I think I reprinted them to match the stock orange color a little better soon after. Overall, this was one of my favorite mods on the build.
  19. Let's see some pics of these fitted up with 5 lugs! I'm really curious how they sit on the Brats especially, but would love to see on EA82 also...
  20. No prob! Hopefully providing some inspiration for others with their builds. I know seeing a good build thread gets me pumped for my own projects and gets me coming up with all kinds of ideas. Still got a few more to share, too.
  21. Here's a few from the engine swap. Making my first EA-EJ adapter plate: My prototype was 1/2" aluminum, hand cut with a jigsaw. The plates I later put into production were CNC cut steel. Flywheel was welded up and redrilled. EJ22 cleaned up a bit. Stripped harness: All the wiring I stripped off the harness:
  22. Thanks! Looking back it was a crazy amount of work... I couldn't image doing it again. But I'm really glad I did. And I hope I can do it again, cause I just got an 84 Brat that needs almost as much love!
