EA82 Fuel Injection

Featured Replies

I am a new member and I have a few questions;

I have just bought a 1988 EA82 with SPFI and I like to run the engine on a airboat. Does anyone have a wiring diagram.....how to setup not running it in a car....Or would it be easier to fit it and run it with a carb... and what carb is recommended.....

Thanks

Peter

id stick with the efi, for obvious reasons. i have no diagram to complete the swap, but the spfi is pretty contained, to the motor, and the wires going to the computer. you should be able to pull the harness out, and unplug if from the fusebox, give the computer, power, wire in a couple relays for the fuel pump, and ignition power, and blammo! efi.

wel you could ditch all the subaru fuel injection controlls ditch the maf sensor

keep the throttle body or go to a bit bigger one

and drop a megasquirt programmable injection controller on it

possibly far easyer than trying to make the car ecu run correctly on a air boat.. plus the megasquirt could be water proofed

btw i run one and a tiny bit more..hehehe

so.. why not a ea82turbo motor airboat?

just wondering

thanks for the tips.... and how easy is it to setup the Megasquirt (I know I have to build it myself, but that shouldn't be a problem)

Peter

i gotta look at this megasquirt stuff, if nothing else just to use the gm coil pack, and 3 bar map sensor i have laying around.

wll if i can build it and install it and kill a tranny with it.. then its pretty dam easy :)

besides i got most of the hard stuff done you can just start out with my fuel and timing maps
