October 6, 200421 yr I'm in the middle of a clutch job; I plan on taking the flywheel off and replacing the rear main seal while I'm at it. Dose anyone have the torque specs for the flywheel bolts. I don't want it to fly out going down the road but I don't want to torque it uneven enough to warp it either.
October 6, 200421 yr If no one has an answer by this evening, I can check the fsm's when I get home. I think it's around 60 ft-lbs.....but lemme check.
October 6, 200421 yr ummm i really don't know but that sound really too high... on my 79(they are so similar aren't they... ) i torque them down to 20 something... a jerkfaces guy in my auto shop torqued them down to 90 and they all broke...all 8...
October 7, 200421 yr Author grr, the transmission is hung up on one of the aligment pins. Look like I have to wait till tomarrow to finally drop it.
