Brake fluid leak...Help

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I just got this subie and the repair bills are adding up quick. There is a new master cylinder for the brakes on her. Right below the resevior where the res connects to the metal portion of the master cyl, there seems to be a decent leak of brake fluid. Are the rubber seals available separately? Has anyone fixed this problem using some clever and ingenius method unauthorized by subaru, but endorsed by backyard mechanics everwhere?! Any help is greatly appreciated.

if the new master cylider was isntalled by a shop, or the mast. cyl came with the reserv. attatched...i know for a fact it shoudl not leak when you get it back from 'x'...so I would take it back for warrenty...

you mean MOST of you old stuff doesnt leak.... :brow:

The subject was master cylinders... and within that VERY narrow subject what I said was accurate. Now I DID have to replace the hill-holder valve...

Besides, if the old stuff never leaked, what would we do with our time??? lol
