October 22, 200421 yr I own a 2004 Subaru Forrester 2.5X. My question is concerning the windshield wiper/washer. When the wiper lever is pulled toward the driver, should the wiper operate once AND spray water or operate once but not spray water? When the button is pushed on the wiper lever, it does spray water. When the wiper lever is pulled toward the driver, it does not spray water. My dealer service manager says it is not supposed to spray water when the lever is pulled however the icon on the lever shows water being sprayed.

It only sprays water/wiper fluid when the button is pushed inward. The lever being pulled towards the driver only initiates a "quick wipe" function that clears the windsheild but does not spray fluid. Happy driving!
October 22, 200421 yr The icon of spraying is for rear window, I guess, if the same idea of multi switch is used in Forester as in Legacy. diga
