Exhaust! Help!

Featured Replies

Hey....I am trying to replace the rear cat and the muffler assembly on my 1993 subaru legacy...4wd, non turbo....My friend has a 1989 subaru legacy, 4wd, but I am not sure if that exhaust will fit on my car...

What I have read online says that it wont...it is a different engine and a different chasis...Does anyone know if I would be able to find a way to adapt it to my car?

I would appreciate any input!! thank you!

Chris..

I would expect that it fits, no problem. If you have welding equipment at your disposal you will be able to get it on for sure.

Oh, on the early model, that lump in the center section of the exhaust is not a cat. But it is on the later models. Not sure on what you will find inside your 1993 model, probably a cat. Even so, the mounting points are the same.

huh? I have a '90 Legacy...what is that lump in the center if not a cat then?

Just a resonator. Sends air pulses back to the exhaust port to encourage gases to leave the cumbustion chamber.
