Whats up all, new to this site here & looking for a....I think 81-84 hatchback4wd subaru. 1ST generation. AS you can probably tell, one that is a 3dr.Any Suggestions? Updating this: it is the hatchback in the 82 brochure that is blue & " 1982-e" Thanks for any info or tips!

ok there is a difference when we refer to certain Subarus. The hatchback was made from 81 all the way up until 88 or 89, I can't remember. Then there is the three-door which is the next body style and they were made from 87.5-89 I believe. Some of the three-doors were also known as RXs and they had a bunch of extra upgrades to them, one being turbo. The hatchback you're looking for is also known as the EA81 bodystyle, which refers to the motor in it. The three-door has an EA82 motor in it which unlike the EA81, has OHC instead of OHV. I hope this helps you out a little bit.

Oh and the 4wd hatchbacks are wheelin machines!!!!

Thanks for the tips!! If you go to the brochures in the homepage in the 82 album there is a pic of a blue 2dr hatchback, that is my dream subaru. Any idea what the particular model of that is? Be patient, I'm new at this & am gonna check it out again to see if it tell me. I'm jonsin for one of those if anyone is reading this. Thanks for the help!!

Yes, that is a GL. Also has the centerlight and D/R 4WD. I know where one is right now. The people that own it are unsure what they are going to do with it at the moment. They will let me know when they decide.
