sometimes these subarus do that. i'm thinking maybe something wrong with the head, we also checked the timing and that was ok to.Hope to figure something out, i would appreciate any more input from anyone.

Have you hooked up a vaccum gauge? Most gauges come with a sheet that tells you how to digest the readings.
