kevinsUBARU
Hey all I finally have time today and I really need to change my front differential oil (95 Impreza AWD automatic). I did some searching and am getting different results on if a crush washer is used on the differential drain plug. The owners manual says to use one, scooby mods doesn't say, and an old thread on here said that a non-crush washer was used from the factory. So the question of the day: Is a crush washer used on the front differential drain plug, and if so, what size! Thank you for your speedy responses! Setright
In my experience, over fifteen years, the drain plugs on Sube transmissions has always been a "regular" washer. Either copper or aluminium, which will crush to some extent. Always replace them. Only the spark plugs and oil pan use crush washers. Always replace these too! I am sorry, but I can't help on the exact size, but I expect the inner diameter to be around 20mm. 3mm wide washer, and 1-2mm thick.
