I just bought an 86 GL wagon 1.8. The carb bowl is dry in the morning, though once primed, it runs decent. The rubber boot on the "choke plunger" is shot and leaking fuel. I think it also leaks from the main gasket where it bolts to the intake body. I figure I better rebuild the thing. It doesn't look like it has ever been off the vehicle in 171k.

 

The parts store needs numbers from the carb, but I don't see any number plate. Where is it? Does anyone know what # carb this rig has on it?

Sorry...it's the throttle shaft bushing that is shot. Does that require a full rebuild?
