Run to Tehuya...

Featured Replies

anyone interested? I'm thinking it'd be fun to go spend a day out there bashing around a bit.

Just thought it'd be fun to hang out with some Soobie nuts.

If there's interest, I'll set up a date and get a scouting run out there to find some fun spots.

What the heck is in Tehuya worth driving to????

Where is Tehuya?

it's right next to belfair. which is about 30 minutes from the tacoma narrow birdge or a little further. it's a decent size orv park. which has a nice mud pit, and a bunch of mild mannered trails. and a few trails and hill climbs that are a little challenging.

just a little tip. when you enter the main 4x4 part, across from the main parking area. make sure you hang to the left. the trails are a little milderer. if you go all the way right... it's a pretty knarly downhill.

"Folks below is a e-mail from DNR about information on the Wagon Wheel timber harvest impacting the 4X4 trailhead at Tahuya. The Quadrapaws has been working with DNR BANGHEAD2.jpe on this sale for 11 months. I hope this will not inconvenience anyone. We hoping the logging contractor will be done by the end of June 05. After the contractor has turned over the harvest site back over to the recreation side of DNR. There will be work parties scheduled to restore the existing 4X4 trails from the trailhead. thumbup.gif

To Quadrapaws:

Road construction is in full swing on the Wagon Wheel Timber Sale which

encompasses part of the 4x4 trail system. We have temporarily closed the 4x4

trailhead off of Elfendahl Pass Rd. Access to the trail system will remain via

the East Tahuya Spur Rd (which the gate will remain open), and the Spillman

access point across from the Spillman Campground. The South loop will remain

available and also the JBXR trail to the Mud area. Once harvesting starts in

April of 05, we will attempt to keep both access points open for the rest of

the harvest. Concerns with the Spillman access are heavier than with the East

Tahuya Spur Rd. DNR will take proactive approach to Education, Signage,

Enforcement. Our partnerships with groups like the Quadrapaws will be of the

utmost importance during this time period. Thank You
