Its been a while since i have been on this forum, i used to frequent it a year or two back. Anyways my brat began leaking fuel from the tank the other day but i couldn't see where. Pull the tank today and its rotted on the front/top portion of the tank. I searched the forums a bit, maybe not enough, but where you guys been able to find replacement fueltanks for your subarus? I'm somewhat hesitant to go to a junkyard to get one. I figure if its too hard to find another i will repair this one and then seal it inside and out. Thanks

I might be wrong, but ask Moosens, he may have one. I remember something about him and a Brat tank that was for sale?

 

I tried getting one from my local dealership and it took one month before I was informed they aren't available anymore. Mine wasn't really leaking it was a little vent line that's on the top front of the tank that you can't see until you pull the tank. The line was broken off at the tank and when the gas expanded it leaked out.

best bet would be to find someone on the board close to you like Paul (moosens) or in a junkyard. I had a hole in the gastank on my '89 RX from the j/y I bought it from so I got one from a fellow board member just a few hours away from me. Seems to work fine!

I know of one in a J/Y in Tabernacle NJ. Guy is pricey though and I can't tell you anything about the tank (If it leaks etc...) From what I remember it was in good shape. Email me if interested. Boz
