  1. Just checking in to wish you all happy holidays!! Be safe. Hope you get everything you want, enjoy yourselves, visit with family and friends and if able, try to help someone in need whether that be with a gift (money or present) or a tow out of a ditch or a ride when it's cold or rainy or shoveling/plowing their sidewalk/driveway or whatever. Keep an eye on the elderly, even if you don't know them and always keep an eye out for kids!! They run in between cars, sometimes sled into the roads, and even hide behind snow piles wanting to throw snowballs etc so don't hit the snow piles and be very careful when plowing. Don't want to hit or bury anyone with the plow or hit them with the stuff flying off the plow. Remember, there's rocks, ice or even hard packed snow. Can hurt, maim, or kill someone. And stay off the ice.. Stay hydrated and don't over exert yourself when shoveling. Take care!!!!!
  2. That's been done a few times in the past. When I used to get on here a long time ago I remember seeing one or two of those. West coast, where else? Lol
  3. A 350 will twist that unibody. I looked into a 327 into my BRAT and would have had to build a full frame under it to do that. That alone is like 1500. Another thing to consider is a v8 is going to stick way up out of your engine bay. So unless you're installing a body lift between your custom frame and your body, you're gonna have clearance issues. Then you'd have to get an engine/trans...etc so unless you have about 5500 but probably more to have a shop do this or about 2700 and a crap load of fabrication skills and the space, time and tools, its time to bury that dream. It CAN be done but unless you're making $45/hr or better, I doubt you'll be able to afford it. I agree with everyone else, put your $ into an Ea82 and custom trans/rears/gears or whatever. If you can afford a wrx swap, that would also be cheaper.
  4. Hey guys, just stopping back in to say hi. I really regret selling my BRATs and wish I could find another worthy of buying. That's almost impossible here on the East coast. I moved back to Pa. My new poison is Kawasaki Eliminator ZL1000's. I have 6 of them. Well, 5. One is a parts bike. Only made 2 yrs but only in US for 1 yr. Always looking for another BRAT though. Best car I've ever owned. A big hello to some of the old guys that might remember me (Qman, Shawn, Moosens, McBrat) No doubt probably still here. Die hard Suby fanatics and not only extremely knowledgable but just a great group of guys. Hope all is well for you guys, hopefully, I'll get back on here with another old school Sube. Take care, Boz
  5. Just wanted to wish all of you (members and guests) a Happy Easter. Be safe and enjoy your family time. Take care, Boz
  6. Southwest. If you click on my link then go to the top left of the CL page and click where it says westslope or whatever. That will bring you to that CL home page. Scroll all the way to the right to see nearby CL and you should recognize some big cities etc. Thats how I always find out approximately where they are. They are ALWAYS WEST. NEVER on the EAST
  7. Just popping in to say hello to the old farts of the forum that remember me...lol Check this thing out! This is super cool.I would be all over this but waaay too far away. http://westslope.craigslist.org/ctd/2798070469.html
  8. I have the RX ground effects kit but I dont think I have the front spoiler (Is that what you are referring to?) Give me a call and I will check while on the phone after you clarify. Boz 609 941 9143

  9. Anyone else getting this message? I am only getting it with the USMB site, no others.
  10. Lady right down the street has an 82 wagon, Her father the original owner (he passed away) she stopped driving it less than a year ago. I stopped and she was pretty cool. I didnt get a look at it yet but I can see it's in pretty nice shape for an old Subaru. From what I could see from her driveway (car is parked in her yard) Looks like maybe a little rust just starting on rocker But otherwise looks really clean. She said the local Subaru dealer is supposed to be buying back from her to display in showroom but local Suby dealer is a bunch of asses and she agrees so I may grab it for cheap. We'll see, Gotta stop and check it out some and make an offer but she can't possibly want too much. keep you guys posted.
  11. Looks pretty nice, Whats great is that you know the original owner and no surprises. Have all paperwork etc. Is it worth 8k, I dont think so but it would probably bring 4000-4500 for sure. First thing you do after that tuneup, take it to a bodyshop, the BEST body shop and have the rust around the wheelwells fixed immediately inside and outside. Once you have the rust, they go fast and I see that you have some, cant see drivers side but hopefully you only have it on one side. Nice find all together though
  12. The stuff works, Not only does it work, But it works GREAT!!!!!! No worries, go for it.
  13. Aww man, It may hurt now but you will always look back and laugh your rump roast off for sinking it.. It is a Subaru, not a SUBaroo.. Just cuz it says SUB in the name doesn't mean you can DIVE DIVE DIVE...lmao Bet that was one hell of an experience
  14. Wax that baby! Make it shine. And definately get underneath it and seal everything...
  15. Very cool and Kudos for being different!
  16. Yep, you guys are right on, grease the slides, make sure calipers are actually good, make sure your brake lines are not collapsed, make sure fluid is clean and that brakes are bled....Don't buy el cheapo pads as for rotors, I think they are all basically the same, the cast may be different and may be able to withstand more heat but most are the same, you get what you pay for though, remember that and Brakes are one of, if not the most important part of your vehicle so if you equate the value of your family to the off brand's chepest pads then sit back and think about that. I do my own brakes because I trust NO ONE. (and I am cheap)
  17. I'd have to say the factory dual carb setup is a rare thing to have. As far as I know, there are only 2 in the U.S. One up in pacific northwest (can't remember who had it and the one I had which I sold to McBrat when I (regretfully) got rid of my BRATs. (P.S. I still have stuff if anyone's lookin. RX ground effects, BRAT bed chrome, misc dash parts, maybe some disc brake conversion stuff) If interested, just call me because I rarely get on here. 18. Not to hijack the thread but I actually had a painting question. I recently bought a Graco 390 machine just because it was a hell of a deal. This is for painting houses etc but I was considering playing around with it for car/motorcycle parts. Yes, I know it's a different kind of paint and I may need to change the tip on the gun but other than that, it's just a matter of judgement, right? Anyone that answers this please tell me if you do this professionally or as a hobby or whatever.
  19. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Volkswagen-Beetle-Classic-1955-vw-beetle-subaru-powered-300hp-street-car_W0QQitemZ140252257212QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item140252257212&_trksid=p3286.m14.l1318 Subaru Powered Bug, Good tips on how to gain the HP too
  20. That's right, I'm back, probably not like I used to be though and now on the newer side (It's not a BRAT or turbo sedan this time) I picked up a very clean 95 legacy L (Not AWD) for 250 bucks. May keep it but my mother in law is looking for a car and I may make a deal with her for a new computer and some cash. Guy I bought it from says it used to shut off on him after 5-10 miles but I drove it 35 minutes home and still let it run a hr after wards and it didn't give me any problems at all. (Maybe a fuel pump but I haven't seen any signs/symptoms yet) Anyway, I have to fix the infamous exhaust leak that all subarus get, it needs a radio, I would like to put newer rims on it and there was some issue with the right rear shock tower mount. Haven't looked at it. Car doesn't lean or ride funny but I do hear a small noise while driving. I think he said something about the mounting bracket needing to be welded or something. It's just plain (and very clean) only additions are a thule roof rack and impreza front seats. (man they are comfortable) Anyway, It feels good to be back, even if it's only temporary. Boz
  21. Hey guys! I just hopped back on here for the replies. No, I'm not a turkey, I'm more like a cow these days but oh well. Yes, the Gen I is still there and probably always will be. I'm ok, Been really busy. Got a new job doing maintenance at the hospital. Still going to school, still working on the house, still trading for things I don't need etc...Hope all is well with you guys. Boz
  22. Holy ************! It's BOZ!!!! Just poppin in to say hello to all of the old heads. I miss you guys. Keep in touch. I am still at cmakar@hotmail.com and also at bozang1@localnet.com To all the new guys. You've stumbled across the best Subaru site EVER and even better is the group of people on here. and their knowledge. Anyway, I have some parts I'm gonna post so see you in the marketplace. Boz
  23. Looking good! I'm glad the wheels got some use same with the roobar. I really hated to let them go, I had plans for all of that but oh well. (Did you move to Hainesport? I thought you were down by Haddonfield) Anyway, Good job on the interior, I did the same thing with my old BRAT but my guage cluster was brushed aluminum in color but the red looks the same. I need to sell this car, it looks very similar to the loyale in the picture a few threads up. Boz
  24. Here's one that the old timers may remember. I use Willard batteries whenever I have to buy a new one. They work GREAT. I NEVER have a problem. I only know of one place to get them though. For the guys in PA there is a Willard outlet in Selinsgrove near the mall. It's a small place right off of rt 11 if I remember it is across the road from a pontiac/gmc dealer (it is on the same side as the Toyota dealer) Not right on rt 11 though. On a side street. (Man, It's been AT LEAST 5 years since I have been out there) Anyway, If you can get your hands on one I HIGHLY recommend them. Boz
  25. Why don't you just buy my BRAT? It already has the T Tops, And is a good solid (Extremely little rust) project. Runs, drives, and a million rare/spare parts. Boz (20 minutes south of Trenton)
