  1. 2 choices, which could prove to be tough: A. Flog her and disown her or B. MAKE her learn about the engine that she destroyed. A "Father/daughter" project. She works on it with you until it's done. Teach her that girls need to know how to check oil and read guages too.
  2. "Why yes, there is! Its in my head. I am going on estimated guesses, experiences of others and their builds, approximations on similar products on other engines and the gains they had." (Posted by WJM) Estimated Guesses?? Experiences of others and their builds? Approximations on similar products on other engines and the gains they had?? Estimated guesses......Are just that....Guesses and can be waaaay off. Experiences of others and their builds.....What good is that gonna do unless you have the same builds that they do? A+B=C but A+D does not = C That's like taking a set of ingredients and changing one thing. Your friend made brownies. You try to make better brownies by taking out the egg and putting in more oil. You don't have brownies when you are done, You have a laxative. See what I mean. As soon as you change one thing, it is a totally different outcome. Everything affects everything else. Approximations on similar products on other engines and the gains they had. Approximations? That's like a guess, right? Similar products? They could appear to be similar but have a different affect. Other engines?....What other engines? B16? 22R? EJ22? Other engines even if the same EA82T are not your engine. I am not one to be a pessimist, I really like the idea of building up an EA82T and I truly believe that it has ALOT of potential. I like your ideas and your spirit and I agree with one of the above posts about giving you support. However, I see no facts. All I see is guesses, aproximations, estimates, and comparisons to unknown engine types with similar products all mixed up "in your head". I am not saying you are dumb, Heck, Maybe you are right on the money. I tend to have a little more trust in people who turn out the product. Dr RX has done his share of products, some were more work than others, he has years of experience under his belt and has proven himself. Subarubrat has more than proven himself, as well as a few others here. I guess I am saying, You are barking real loud but I don't see any bite. Prove yourself and you will gain much respect and credibility around here. Otherwise, you will probably be talked about. Please don't take what I say in a negative way. People just aren't going to believe anything until they see cold hard facts. Good luck to you, Boz
  3. WJM, Not arguing with the possibility of this happening, Just want to know how you know this without it being done. Is there some sort of computer program or something that tells you that the EA82T will have x amount of HP if you do this or that? It definately would be cool to go around smokin people in an old 4 dr subaru.
  4. I thought it looked a little funny but I am not used to seeing them without the sticker so I just assumed it was that throwing my eyes off.
  5. Amanda, The camcorder is for Subaru action only, nothing else. Ha Ha Ha (You wore out the batteries...Damn!!!) Send tape to my house I will PM my address HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA (Sorry, a little off topic)
  6. Jason, It's you? Man, Let me know if you need the part. I haven't seen you for quite some time. Hey, On a side note, Do you know of any bikes that are local to you for a fairly cheap price that the owner may be willing to trade? I am looking to trade my BRAT and ALL of the parts I have accumulated over the years with it. I also am looking to unload a very expensive top of the line Toro snowblower. (1000 dollars new). Let me know if you have any leads or interested parties in your area. Thanks man, Boz (609) 702 5966
  7. I am not sure of the #'s but they are commonly called peanut bulbs. I replaced mine with red ones. Unless you are talking about the ones that have the little plastic pieces attached. They are different. (I hope I remember this correctly)
  8. Brian, what did you whip up? All I see is a regular silver BRAT. Am I missing something here?
  9. I'd be willing to bet that if this guy spent the time writing a book instead of long winded email passages he probably could make enough to pay cash for a house. Too funny. How stupid can people actually get? I thought I had found the bottom line but I was wrong, this guy is 6 feet under and digging......
  10. If it is still there in a day or two, It sounds like a great parts car (Hush Hush) Ha Ha Ha
  11. Speaker on drivers side behind the little vent looking piece is easily removed without taking the dash out. I have done it, (I then installed a little tray which was also an option) However, Installing a new speaker would be the difficult portion of the task. Not impossible though
  12. If you need a hand, Call me, (609) 702-5966 Drag the BRAT out here to my house and we can do what you need. Boz
  13. Yeah, The first thing to check is to turn them on and make sure that they are working but the nuts are loose. I have seen this happen. Start there. Try unplugging the motor and cleaning the connection and plug it back in. Is there a relay as well as a fuse? Worse case scenario, I have one for you and I am fairly local. Boz (609) 702 5966 call me if you need to.
  14. Ahhhh, Now I see what you are saying. I thought you were taking a top from a BRAT and fabbing into an already existing BRAT (Into the bed area). What you are saying doesn't sound TOO bad. Alot of work? YES, But it can be done. If you have the time/money/means to do it, I say go for it! It will be quite long. Heck, why not go all out and make a BRAT limo with 6 seats?
  15. Probably rusty as hell underneath. At minimum, good for parts or an off road beater.
  16. Not a good idea for a few reasons. One, You would lose all integrity of the body (Unibody) and two, You would need to cut out the first section of the bed behind the cab wall to lower it down to be equal with the floor in the front in order to install seats and still have head room. When you do this, you are talking about alot of work because of the driveshaft/exhaust (at minimum) need to be relocated lower as well. (Can it be done?, sure, ANYTHING can be done) but you would also need to add support for 2 more doors or if retaining two doors only, you still need support on the sides. If you insist on doing this, you would most definately need at least (without measuring) I would guess at LEAST a six inch lift. It would be more feasible to start with a wagon and go from there, you have more to work with but this has been attempted before without good results. In my opinion, a true waste of money and a waste of a good subaru.
  17. Yeah, Who the heck do you know??? I've never seen a WRX drivetrain for 500 bucks especially an STi. And you're gonna get the whole kit/caboodle for that much??? Maybe it was a typo and it was supposed to be 5K??? If not, where did you find such a bargain??
  18. Did he get fired? He should have NEVER been in the position to crash your car to begin with. I don't know about anywhere else but they aren't supposed to drive your car, Here in NJ they just sniff the pipe while it is parked and running (At least the place I took my wife's car that's what they did.)
  19. That was my plan for my dual carb manifold on my BRAT with dual webers. (Of course, the engine would be worked a bit, but I posed the same question a few years ago and was told that it was too much for an EA81. I beg to differ. I believe it can be done (With proper jetting). Boz
  20. What model do you have? Wagon? Hatch? Sedan? BRAT? I am no expert on the lifts but it doesn't sound right. Let's here what the guys who have the lifts say. (It's like Subarubrat has been saying) There has been alot of misleading info on here lately from people who don't have first hand knowledge. I would trust the people who actually have done it vs the people who say it can/can't be done but have never done it. Boz
  21. I may have missed it but what size did you say the tires are? Did you have to trim the fenders?
  22. Yeah, Looks great! What size tires? And I too would like to know about the headlight cover. I had to custom make the ones that I used to have.
  23. Well, I know where there are some nice 15" Pugs. I have 3 plus a steel spare but in a yard not far from here there is at least one complete set in great shape might even be two. For the price of the rims and a small fee (Gas/time) I could grab them for you. Not sure how much shipping would be though. Boz
  24. Just bring it to any place that carries any kind of seals and such and match it up if you have to. I am sure that there is something out there with the same size/type seal. From forklifts to washers and dryers, something has it. Try looking at seals from other autos. Go to NAPA with the old seal and tell them you need another one just like it. Let them do the work........
