Hi, I am new to this site. I have a 1999 Forester 5 speed 2 Litre

 

 

We are going more offroad with our Forester and also towing a camper trailer. We have found that the low range is not really low enough. Is there a retro fit "lower" low range set of gears or gear box available for our vehicle. Also is there a huge benefit from fitting a LSD to the Forester for off road ?

Most of us in the U.S. would take a dual range EJ trannny with any ratio as they are not available here, not sure if there are any lower gears though. I would think the LSD would be a lot better than the open diff.
