97 OBW Aftermarket CD Receiver

Featured Replies

So the factory CD receiver finally bit the dust on me. Got the "premium sound package" with a split receiver: top is radio/cassette and the bottom is the CD. Anybody ever pulled both units out, just replaced the CD, and added an aftermarket or OEM pocket/cubby hole?? Talked to the folks at Crutchfield and they didn't carry a "pocket". Figured good ole Subaru of America would have one but would charge their regular exhorbant amount.

I have a "pocket/cubby hole" for you. PM me. It came out of my 92 Legacy that has the same sort of system (same sizes), and I just put a CD head that I got second hand in the place where it was. . . It will be the same part (or nearly so) that went into your car if the CD was not there. . .
