GL hatch rally

Featured Replies

ok, I've lined up most of the 4wd parts for the hatch, but I'm thinking instead of jacking it up and putting big wheels and tires on it, going rally style instead. Any suggestions on what to do to give it a rally look and feel would be greatly appreciated. And the more pics the better :]

thanks :]

well if you really want to base it on a Rally car you will want stiffer springs and dampers. avoid going larger with the sway bars.

gut the interior.

add a cage.

install undercarige protection. mud flaps.

oh you need some nice seats with 5 pt harness.

and of course rally tires.

now the bad part is most all of this is going to be custom work($$$$) so you really need to decide just how rally you want it.

do you just want to rallyX it? or really rally. I would recomend doing a rallyX first to see what its about.

well, you can call me a poser if you want, but it will probably never actually see any rally experience. Its mostly looks and feel I'm going for, I'm not going to build something to handle the punishment of actual rally racing. I grew up watching rally on TV and always dreamed of having a rally car, and old pugeot, or lancia, one that I thought was really cools was a mini cooper set up for rally. I've built a bunch of plastic models of rally cars, I guess what I'm looking to do is build a full size "model" of a rally car.

So far I found only one pic of a subaru rally hatchback, there have to be more out there
