svxpert
Does anyone know if the EJ series 1.8 pistons will fit in an EA82? The thing I'm thinking about is if there stronger/better/comp ratio than the EA82 pistons, I would swap them into a EA82 block to pick up some HP. I know someone used a N/A EA82 block with a turbo setup already but I want some more longevity out of the pistons.
GLCraig
They won't, the EA engines have a 92mm bore and the EJ18 has a 87.8mm bore

svxpert
You mention the EA series bore is 92mm, I see the EJ22 and the EG33(SVX) bore are 97mm. I see a difference of 5mm. Am I dreaming or is it possible to bore out the 5mm to fit a better/stronger piston? Am I just nuts to think of this? Thanks for the responses in adance. GLCraig
I think the piston sleaves are less then 3mm thick. Now EJ20 pistons may be close enough and yes there are non-turbo EJ20s out there, just not in the US. Also the wrist pin on EJ engines might be bigger.
