Flywheel Help!

Featured Replies

I Was Told My Flywheel Was No Good. My Dilemma Is Which New Flywheel To Get? Xt Or Stock? Car Is A 86 Gl-10 Turbo S/w 5sp Push Button 4wd. What Are The Advantages Of One Over The Other , And What Is The Price Differance That I Should Expect To See. Performance Is Not A Necissity But Would Be Nice If Not To Much $$. Thanks For All The Help As I Am Trying To Get This Car In Shape To Drive As I Just Bought It And Had To Trailer It Home Because The Clutch Was Fried And It Needed Cv's.

First, did you purposely capitalize every word, or did the caps lock filter catch you?;)

Second, the difference is weight. The XT6 (not XT) flywheel is lighter

third - price. Depends on where you get it.

Fourth - search. there is a very good search function here that will answer many questions about the XT6 flywheel in great detail.

The info I was looking for I couldn't find for one are there any mods that need to be done to the XT6 flywheel if being used with a stock disc and pressure plate? Or can that setup even be used? Is this better?

the xt6 flywheel will bolt up to the crank like stock, no mods. use the pp and disc pertaining to your transmission. if you r car is 5spd 4wd then the xt6, turbos, and 4wd dual range disc/pp are the same
