Alright, well my roommate bought my 85 brat from me. Hes rallyied the hell out of it. Driving home last night the back drivers side tire locked up. he limped it home and after looking today, the wheelbearing looks shot cause thehh axle output shaft is sitting sorta sideways going into the control arm

 

my question is will any EA81 rear axle fit on the brat? or what about EA82 rear axles? they are both 3.9 rear diffs so I dont see why it wouldnt fit.

 

The biggest problem is that I'm having to drive him to work now at 7 am (I dont goto work until 1 pm) I need to get this fixed. So if the axles will work off an 84 wagon, I'm gonna bust off the whole assembly and just put the axle and control arm on together.

all ea81 rear axles are the same

 

no ea82 axles wont fit since the ea82 is wider

 

ea82 doj will fit on an ea81 rear axle

 

axle stubs, bearings, and trailing arms are swappable between either
