February 2, 200521 yr Just checked the gear oil in the tranny today an noticed litlle bubbles in the gear oil on the stick. I've never noticed this before as I remember but then, it's been a while. Is this normal?
February 2, 200521 yr yeah it happens to any oil that gets pumped or circulated. If you've used Lucas Oil stabilizer any time in that oil or in the previous oil thats why theres the bubbles.
February 3, 200521 yr I would not lose sleep over it. 1st the tranny is rock-solid 2nd it is normal if you have been driving it b/c the gear teeth pick up and circulate the gear oil.
February 3, 200521 yr Doesn't sound as if its foaming, as such. Small amounts of bubbles are normal, the oil going all foamy isn't - this generally happens when the wrong oil is used.
February 3, 200521 yr hi it happhand to me also .....some mounths ago.... you have too much oil, you need to chack your oil level and see if you have too much, you need to take out some... have a nice day. moshe.
February 3, 200521 yr Author Thanks for the replies. The leval is correct according to the dipstick and the gear oil is 80-90. It isn't foamy like soap bubbles, you can just see a lot of bubbles in it. Everything shifts fine. It's funny, but I can't for the life of me remember if I've seen this before or not. Must be getting old. Matt.
