My Buddy just got a 2000 2.5 rs, but on the way home the CE light came on.

So from what we can tell the cars previous owner modified the car, but we don't know how. (we can find misc. wires cut, a reset switch and a green factory looking plug under the dash that when pluged in causes the CEL to blink rather than stay on.) The car does have an after market exhaust, but other than that it looks like all other after market parts are replaced with factory stock parts.

So does anybody have any ideas.

You really just have to get an ODBII reader and pull the code and attack it as usual. Autozone might pull codes for free in your area.
