Tom Dunn
Was watching the Blue Collar Comedy Tour tonight and one of the sponsors was Castrol. They ran an ad for their "High Mileage" motor oil. Neat ad 'cuz it had a dog in in and I really like dogs! But to get to the point, in your opinion, is there really anything to this stuff do you think? I'm curious if the formulation could really be all that beneficial to a motor in the 150K+ range or is it just hype?
Nug
I seriously think it's mostly hype. It's probably got seal conditioners in it or something, but I doubt it's worth the extra coin.
SevenSisters
Only thing better than a dog in an ad is a dog and a bass boat. The viscosity additives may be a little but if you're not having burning problems, I skip it. BTW, Quaker State has a special "import" Dexron ATF. I almost fell for it. Setright
Hype.
Scoobaroo
Double hype. Probably has extra viscosity improvers and seal conditioners added. Remember, the more additives, the less oil per quart.
friendly_jacek
It may be a good idea for someone with oil consumption or semi-leaky seals. Otherwise, why would you want to swell your good seals?
