replacing headlight bulb '97 OBW

Featured Replies

Fellers,

Bought a new bulb for my headlights but I couldn't get the old one out of the light assembly. What the heck am I doing wrong? There is a rubber "boot" over the hardware that holds the bulb but i can't get it out of the assembly. There are 2 arrows in the center that says to push but the darn thing wouldn't come out. Someone straighten me out so i don't feel so stupid.

thanks

Under the "boot" there is a plastic ring that goes around the back of the bulb, and holds it into the headlamp housing, If I Recall Correctly. . .

If you hadn't made it this far:

-Unplug the power wires from the rear of the plastic bulb assembly by squeezing the clips attached to the plug.

-there is a metal clip you need to push DOWN to unclip the plastic bulb assembly.

-turn CCW 1/4 and pull straight out
