February 17, 200521 yr i thought it might be usefull to get the axel lenghts front and rear and also the front control arm lenghts.. ill get the gen 1 stuff as thats all i have right now........ we need gen 2 and gen 3 (loyal) stuff also maybe tierod ends (inner and outer) the reason is so it will be easyer to mix and match.
February 17, 200521 yr for axles with 25 splines, the doj from a 3at turbo axle can be swapped on for use with 23 spline trannies. its the same diameter as the 25 spline doj, but has 23 splines. the 3at turbo is the only 23 spline large diameter doj. sometimes when you buy a remanufactured axle you may get a 3at, it has a the same shaft diameter as 25 spline turbo axles, 3 bands on the outer end. i have seen 3at axles on other models because the original axles have been changed out
February 18, 200521 yr the 3at turbo is the only 23 spline large diameter doj. I am almost certain that the New Zealand ea81 vehicles were all fitted with the large CV joints (DOJ - what does that stand for???). The vehicles imported second hand from japan (lots of them) have the small ones (except the turbo ones). Strange.
February 18, 200521 yr misc related info: EA81 front sway bar is larger on turbo models (don't have specs yet) EA82 strut rods are 18mm, RX and XT6 strut rods are 20mm
