What should I replace?

Featured Replies

I just got a 2000 Legacy 2.5 engine with about 46K miles from a junkyard. They tested the compression and oil pressure (both were fine) and there are no visible leaks any where on the engine.

My question is, what should I replace on this engine while it is out? I was going to do the timing belt, cam seals, crank seals, thermostat, oil and air filter. Should I change anything else?

Thanks.

He he he I would do an early change on those spark plugs too :P

Check the seperator plate at the back of the block (black plastic ) just under the flywheel .If it is black update it to an aluminium plate

You should replace the oil pump seals
