February 27, 200521 yr ok, we just replaced the head gaskets and put it all back together. every thing is cool and runs great but the running lights keep blinking. whats up with this? The car is a 97 outback 5 speed. we think that it has remote locks, but it was used so we don't have the key fobb for it. if any one knows what it could be, Please let me know.!
February 27, 200521 yr I read somewhere on this forum - do searches - that if you disconnect negative, put key in ignition at on positoon and connect it back with key in ignition it might work.
February 27, 200521 yr I believe there is a button on top of or around the steering column that causes this.
February 27, 200521 yr http://www.cars101.com/subaru/keyless.html#05%20legacy%20program%20remotes Check out he above link for info regarding disarming alarm. Also, I have read about "disconnect negative, key on position, reconnect negative terminal" and it seems like a cheap and easy fix if it works.
February 27, 200521 yr Turn the key on and hold in the alarm programming button for a few seconds and it will stop. The button is on the drivers side under the dash by your left foot, right near the kick panel. It might take a few minutes to find it, mine is ziptied to a bunch of other wires.
