March 18, 200521 yr I have an entire long block, pulled from a 1990 Legacy complete with intake, alternator, PS pump, AC compressor, engine sensors, wiring, motor mounts etc. Basically everything to just "drop it in the car" but not exhaust or flywheel/flex plate. Does anyone know the approx weight of this configuration? (for shipping purposes). There is no way I can hold it while standing on a bathroom scale...
March 18, 200521 yr Why can't you just put a small piece of wood on the bathroom scale and tip the engine up on it, keeping it balanced. I can't see it weighing more than 200lbs.

March 18, 200521 yr oops, stumbled over the AC compressor and other goodies! Josh is probably right on the money. I'd bet one of his paychecks on it.
March 18, 200521 yr Damn, I didn't realize that I was that strong. I have dead lifted an EJ22 from the engine bay of a car in a wrecking yard into a wheelbarrow I had place beside the car. I doubt that I can lift 300 pounds. I guess I'll stop by Gold's Gym and see if I can. PS: I did remove the A/C pump, P/S pump, and alternator before lifting it, it still had the flywheel and clutch on it though.

It weighed in at 250lbs, and that included the a steel plate placed on the scale, and a few links of the chain he was lifting it with.
March 19, 200521 yr My bad....the weight I gave was more for the ej22t motor, since that is what I just had shipped to me.

March 19, 200521 yr Gee, I have one of those in my shed, it isn't that much heavier then the N/A EJ22. Weight of my motor with a bunch of boxes was like 400 lbs. There was around 100 lbs worth of other boxes on the pallet......only saying what I've seen....
