March 18, 200521 yr 1993 EJ22 4EAT - From a cold start (30-35F), it cranks, but doesnt want to start until I hold the accelerator down while cranking. Does this indicate a flooding condition, or cold start injector not delivering gas? Starts & runs fine rest of the day.
March 19, 200521 yr Author Is the check engine light on? No Check Engine light. Hold accel down while cranking from cold start, starts right up.
March 19, 200521 yr I agree with your assesment of flooding. Holding down the accelerator dumps xs gas. Could your injectors be leaking down overnite causing a "flooded" condition? Somebody jump in here. Hook up a pressure gauge overnite?
March 19, 200521 yr The reason I asked about the check engine light is because from what I have seen is the coolant temp. sensor is a common problem. With my car the fuel purge solenoid and the air control valve were acting up and I would have to do exactly as you have said. My check engine light would come on so I don't really know if this is the same problem not.
March 19, 200521 yr The coolant temp sensors can be out of whack and not have the CEL come on.....it's a $20 item.....replace.....I bet it'll fix your problem.
