EJ22 doesn't want to start when cold.

Featured Replies

1993 EJ22 4EAT - From a cold start (30-35F), it cranks, but doesnt want to start until I hold the accelerator down while cranking. Does this indicate a flooding condition, or cold start injector not delivering gas? Starts & runs fine rest of the day.

Is the check engine light on?

No Check Engine light. Hold accel down while cranking from cold start, starts right up.

I agree with your assesment of flooding. Holding down the accelerator dumps xs gas. Could your injectors be leaking down overnite causing a "flooded" condition?

Somebody jump in here.

Hook up a pressure gauge overnite?

The reason I asked about the check engine light is because from what I have seen is the coolant temp. sensor is a common problem. With my car the fuel purge solenoid and the air control valve were acting up and I would have to do exactly as you have said. My check engine light would come on so I don't really know if this is the same problem not.
