I am trying to do most things myself because my Subaru is old. my battery has just been replaced, but the car sat for a couple of months. When I start the car it statrs fine, but when I turn around, or even turn the wheel it makes a tapping, or scratching sound. Is this anything I need to worry about, or can I fix this problem.?????/ Thanks

Have you checked the power steering fluid level?

maybe like a clicking sound? check all the boots on your axles and see if any are ripped or have holes in them

 

a bad cv axle will pop and click when turning

 

a power steering pump will make a whining sound when you turn the wheel all the way
