September 1, 200322 yr When I'm going about 25-35 I hear a squeak coming from my front wheel on the passenger side. It gets alot louder if I let off on the gas. Braking doesn't change the sound. If I throw it in neutral it goes away. Outer CV? I've heard a click a couple of times when it's cranked, but very faint. Boots are fine.
September 1, 200322 yr could be a loose axle nut, and the rotor is huttin g the outerh caliper frame, the caliper frame will keep the rotor in place. does the car jerk the wheel or does the tires chirp when downshifting? if so, that is what an axle will sound like before breaking in the middle of wisconsin check the front diff oil. use 90 wt gear oill
September 1, 200322 yr goes away when you have it in nutral??? hrm. i was thinking it could be a bearing. Maybe put it on jackstands and put the car in gear. See if you can pinpoint the sound with the car sitting still. But I would definatly check for ripped CV boots, loose castle nuts and brake equipment. -Brian
