Davemusic
I did a search for this and haven't tried unplugging the battery yet. This is the stock single disc unit. The CD is store bought and was working fine. It's hard to tell if power is getting to the player. There is no light. Clock/Radio/Casette all work fine. But, if I do need to remove the player from the dash, could someone tell me the proper steps so as not to damage the plastic covers? Any other advice for this problem would also be great. Thanks. Spazz698
Im not sure if this will help but my bf had a deck (pioneer) that didnt want to eject discs. The problem was the spring that popped it up a bit to eject had worn so the cd was getting hung up inside of the deck. That deck was probably 2 yrs old by the time it started doing that(it was a deck that was passed around from friend to friend to friend) The only way to get the cd out was to put another cd into the slot just enough to pop it up (or down for that matter) so it could slide out. We're talking like 3/4" at most. Im not familiar with your cd player but most when ejecting/inserting cds will make a quiet whining sound. I'd listen for that to see if theres power or not. Is the cd thats stuck playing or no?
Davemusic
The player seems dead(no inidicator light). Happened when starting ignition. CD had played fine before that. I've tried tweezers and can grab the edge of the disc but it won't come out. I'll try your suggestion plus try diconnecting/reconnecting the battery later today. If that doesn't do it I guess I'll have to remove the player. Dave
Sweet82
I put a Sony in mine and it did that the first week. However, I drove down a bumpy road and about 20 minutes later it popped out. Never done it since? Have you tried pushing in on the cd? I'd cut the power and reset the deck. Davemusic
Well, upon reconnecting the negative terminal, I discovered a newly ejected and completely destroyed cd. So I can testify that this fix works. Haven't tried another cd yet. Hope I didn't harm the player with my previous attempts to get it out. Thanks for the responses. muse
Hi all, this is my first post. Regarding CD player problems: my 2001 Forester also had a problem with the ejecting discs as soon as I put them in. It started happening after a particularly hot spell in CA. Talked to my Subaru dealer and he said, we heard of quite a few cases of this, go to Circuit City and get a new stereo, (as I was right past the warranty limit). After researching online, I discovered this is a rather common problem. Haven't replaced it yet, wondering if anyone has any recommendations on a cd player/radio to replace it. Thanks!
