I got some stainless center caps for my wagon wheels, and they need some major cleaning - they have spray paint overspray on them. Can I use an SOS pad or is that going to leave them all scratchy looking?

I got some stainless center caps for my wagon wheels, and they need some major cleaning - they have spray paint overspray on them. Can I use an SOS pad or is that going to leave them all scratchy looking?

 

I use fine steel wool to take overspray and rust off of chrome all the time.

yes, I use SOS pads (steel wool with cleanser in it) all the time on chrome, but these are stainless steel (wish they were chrome though!)
