April 1, 200521 yr Hey guys, I'm having a really hard time finding a radiator for my 84 turbo wagon. I was wondering if the radiator for the same gen motor will work from a carburated or just the FI cars will work...Obviously being a radiator for an automatic is a must...Just wondering if the turbo and non-turbo radiators differ. So, if the turbo motor NEEDS a turbo radiator, does anyone in the PDX/Vancouver area have a used one???? Thanks, Daniel
April 1, 200521 yr The radiator in my turbowagon looks identical to my carbie one from waht i reemember. The only difference is the carbie one has a larger, non recovery type cap, but i think thats cos its an '81 rather than an '83. I will have another look tonight to make sure, but im pretty certain they are the same.
April 1, 200521 yr I have a carbed radiator with tranny cooler lines on it. If you want you can BORROW it for a week to test fit. I need it back when I get my flywheel fixed for my brat though. I belive its a unit from 1800radiators.com or something.
April 1, 200521 yr Author Cool Mike, thanks dude. I will let you know what's up...If I can't get one at CostLess tomorrow, I will give you a call dude.
April 1, 200521 yr My radiator guy says that virtually all EA81 radiators are the same, at least as far as dimensions and, IIRC, mounts. There might be a difference in number of rows between NA and turbo. Good possiblility that if the stock radiator is single-row core then a radiator shop might be able to do a 2-row core for you.
April 2, 200521 yr Craven, I tried there dude.... I even called them...Nothing. they show one on there site! or here http://www.radiatorworld.com/radiatorworldfinal/displayProducts.aspx?carno=19335
