anyone else have problems with their cup holder getting stuck or breaking? i am refering to the one in the dash.....the one behind the storage container thing is too flimsy to hold all but the smallest cups.... if anyone wants to sell their in dash cupholder unit pm me :cool:

If yours is still in one piece,

 

1) Take it out of the dash (two screws)

2) Soak it in a dilute solution of Mr. Clean or any other degreaser/cleaner of your choice

3) Rinse thoroughly

4) Apply graphite, etc. to the sliding mechanism and open/close to make sure it is all greased up

5) Reinstall

 

Had problems with mine sticking on all but the warmest days due to a previous owner's soda mishaps. The syrup gels up nicely when cool. Found soda residue all throughout the dash cavity while I was putting in a new cd player. It should work like a charm after doing the procedure I described.

Yeah they tend to stick when you let a soda eat through its cup and lay its sugary mess down. What a POS car. I'm selling mine cause the cup holder is sticky.
