Trouble accelerating in the cold 2L Legacy

Just recently my 2L legacy has started to completely drop power (rev counter instantly drops down too) when trying to accelerate after the first start up of the day -once warmed up and for the rest of the day it is ok but after a night of sitting out the problem recurs.

 

The car has a LPG conversion but even when it is switched off completely (just running on unleaded) it still happens.

 

ohh yeh and as it happens -it sounds like there is a click -like a relay coming from under the steering column.

 

Anyone with any ideas??
