Hi all,

Just wondering if the stock exhaust is aluminium or stainless, havent figured this out yet, hoping for a little guidance.

Thanks in advance,

Kris

Should be steel. Aluminum won't hold up.

thanks a bunch!

While I can't say about the Impreza- most of the Subarus I've seen have the corrosion resistant steel (FYI- true stainless has been found to be to brittle for use in exhaust systems)

About the only thing to worry about with it- it will crack- I usually figure in the neighborhood of 3-4 time longer than regular steel

are ther any good aftermarket exhaust systems out there for Subarus. Something a little more sporty but not out of control?

I know that Borla makes some good cat back systems for Jeeps, is there anything like that for a Roo?

krizzo,

Aluminum will get chalky white as it corrodes, unlike steel which will turn the reddish color due to the iron content.

there is a previous repair between the cats that is leaking. Any creative repair suggestions are appreciated here. I will be replacing the motor in the next six months, if anyone can suggest a source in the CO area, please let me know.

My previous vehicle was 86 300zx, this station wagon is much more responsive!

Thanks again for the input,

Kris
