Sqeaking/Squealing

Featured Replies

A problem has come up in the auto loyale that is seems to have a squeak/sqeal coming from it ONLY at 2250 rpm. I have never noticed that, but apparantly after someone test driving it, it seems to do this now. I've been busy with school exams, so haven't really checked out too much. All I can think or right now is alt belts, maybe a waterpump, or crazy exhaust rattles. Thanks in advance. Gotta love it when strangers mess things up for ya.

When funny noises come up at specific RPMs I usually start looking for something loose.

You have some good assumptions to start with there. Check them for sure.

I'm having a similar problem with my 2001 Forester, it is squeeling at ~1800 rpm. Doesn't matter what gear or speed I'm at, always 1800 rpm. It seems to stop once the car is warmed up. A mechanic suggested it may be a loose heat sheild (?) so he welded something back on, but the noise is still there.

Does anyone know what else it may be? Thanks for your help.
