stripping legacy

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a 1995 Legacy L FWD Wagon Auto and a 1990 Legacy AWD Sedan Auto. Both have the 2.2l engine in them. Would the parts be an exact replacement (ie, starter, alternator, rad, shocks, etc) I could get off of the 1990 for the 1995? I think it's worth more stripped for the 95 then it is to get its "value", assuming everything is interchangeable.

Thanks,

Freakus

No, the 2.2 in the 95 is different then the 2.2 in the 90. There are too many little things that changed, but the big thing is that the 95 has single exhaust port heads, larger valves (both intake & exhaust) different lifters, and some other stuff as well.

Thanks Josh,

I sorta thought that as I went browsing part listings at 1stsubaruparts, the prices didn't line up. (btw, is there an online site that gives OEM part numbers?) Looks like I have someone looking at buying it tomorrow and I sure hope they take it. Damn shame it they don't, as it's great car with only 184K km's., but lifestyle changes (ie baby/maternity leave= less cash) are forcing my hand. If there's any fellow Nova Scotian's looking for a good car, get in touch. Or anyone for that matter. I take the insurance off of it Monday and will prob. part it out. Parts in last 1.5 years alone include, shocks, battery, alternator, rad, axles, tires and rims, ball joints, crank pulley, etc. It is a very sad weekend indeed. Looks like I have my summer project lined up.

Thanks again.
