April 23, 200520 yr What are all the problems that could gas burning of antifreeze? I would like to make sure that it is not just a simple gasket or other problem. Steps to take. thanks
April 23, 200520 yr there are three types gaskets I know of that could cause you to burn antifreeze - the one under your carb (actually had that problem once), the intake manifold gaskets, and the head gaskets (if you total up all the gaskets, that makes five - 2 intake, 2 head) - in your case I would be surprized if it is merely (hopefully) the gasket below the carb - a compression test would tell you of a bad HG - otherwise it is the intake manifold gaskets

April 24, 200520 yr Compression test numbers - all cylinders should be with in 10% of each other. Usually EA82 numbers on a SPFI/carb block is around 130-140 psi
