Water in oil

Featured Replies

Is there anything special i should do to get the water out of my engine? I'm going to drain it out and put some new oil in tomorrow. I can't get seafoam here, but will this be enough of should i consider additives or do something special? Someone put water down the dipstick...

Thanks in advance.

Drain the oil and put fresh oil in. Drive it around for an hour or two and that will evaporate the rest out.

If you didn't drive it around the water should only be in the pan.

Too late for that, but i haven't driven it too far... and i won't be until it gets changed.

Try some Marvel Mystry Oil along with the new oil. (8oz). That will help chase the water out of the lifters and bearings. You should be OK after that.

Ok, thanks for your help. I'll see what i can chase up. I might do a couple of oil changes and see if i can get that additive.

I had the pressure cleaner to it to clean it up. I made sure the electrics didn't get wet... but didn't protect the dipstick.
