96' 2.5L Outback Knock Sensor!

Featured Replies

I got the code for knock sensor today. I can't seem to find it from the horrible description in the Hayes manual. Can anyone point me in the right direction, or am I blind? Also, do you think I can change it without taking the intake off?

Thanks a million!

Top of engine, look from drivers side below the throttle body. Held by 1 10mm bolt (I think) and a single connector just below it on the intake. When replacing, just "snug" it. Overtightning will destroy the new one. Good Luck.

It's a 12mm bolt. The wire conection is just under the throttle body, single wire about 6" long down to the sensor. Yes you can get it without pulling the intake 10" extension works great.
