1999 Forester 2.5 L Knock sensor location

Featured Replies

Hi to all,

I have a 1999 Forester and for the past week I have been getting an intermittent CEL with a code of P0325 (knock sensor).

Could someone please tell me where the knock sensor on my car is located.

Is it on the driver side as I suspect?

The only manual I have is a Haynes for a 1998 Legacy and it states that to remove the sensor the intake manifold must be removed first. I see other messages that state it is a 15 to 20 minute job.

If any pictures are available for a '99 Forester that would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

A.J.

Look straight down behind the intake manifold, just to the left of the throttle cables. Its straight down, a 12mm bolt, single wire going off about an 1.25" dia. black sensor.

The connector is harder to unplug than it is to remove the sensor.
