[sorry if this has been discussed before i havent found the search function yet!]

 

I have a pretty strong clutch shudder in my Outback when cold! After she warms up it goes away!!

 

Seems to me the clutch is not heavy enough and more importantly the surface of the clutch plate isnt high enough grade to handle the loads - hence the vibrations as it fails to connect properly with the flywheel! Ive done some searching and it appears to be a problem accross the range. Subarus' position is to replace it with an original item! But this wont solve the problem, will only throw money at it!

 

Does anyone know of an after market clutch plate with higher grade surface that will solve this issue! Or any other suggestions that can solve it! im surprised Subaru hasnt solved this themselves and made the part available as an upgrade, but then this would admit liability also!

nice and easy on the tranny

good grabbing clutch - i really like mine.

 

if it's time for a swap

you can find the clutch for $300ish...

(disk, plate and TOB)

The subaru departments ive spoken to in Brisbane have not been helpful!

Jamie, is there a rear deflector for the 90-94 Legacy Wagons like the ones that are available for the 00 and up models? I'm looking for the deflector profile, not the spoiler. Thanks.
