2000 OBW needs 3rd Transmission...

Featured Replies

I have a 2000 outback wagon that had transmission problems around 130,000 miles. I replaced the old tranny with a used tranny with 11,000 miles on it. About 25,000 miles later I have another problem.

Has anyone else had similar problems? The problem I have is that the rear case of the transmission is grinding something inside it. I have taken it to a couple of transmission specialists but they are unable to give an estimate to rebuild it until they remove it and look at it.

I am currently thinking about just having someone rebuild it, but it may be cheaper to get another one used.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

thanks,

kyle

I have heard that Red Line is a good additive to the oil. Has anyone heard anything?
