When you put the car into drive it takes what seems like an abnormal amount of time to engage. Does this indicate a problem with the tranny? I haven't been able to drive because of a leaky Gas Tank. So is there anything I can do to deal with this possible tranny issue before I start driving it? Thanks, Gabe

Does this happen only after the car has sit for a long period of time, like overnight? If you drive somewhere, turn the car off, come right back, do you also get the delay?

 

Have you checked the transmission fluid level?
