Location of Legacy GT 01 spark plugs?

Featured Replies

Hi i was just wondering if someone wise could help me out. i live in sydney and own what we here call a subaru liberty b4 2001, or what is probably a version of your GT as such. i am intending on replacing the spark plugs and couldn't find where they are actually located. i also own a normal legacy and it doesnt seem to be in the same position as that one. i am puzzled. could anyone please direct me. my user's manual also provides no assistance in this endeavour. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

If you have a Legacy GT in Sydney, then I'm sure you have the DOHC EJ20 turbo engine. In that case, the spark plugs are right smack-dab in the middle of the heads. You probably have coil-on-plug ignition, so you should look for two coils right in the center of each head.

Yes they're quite a pain to replace, I've never done plugs on a DOHC Subaru, and I wouldn't look forward to it either.

As previously described they are in the middle of the heads beneath the coil packs there is a bolt securing the coil pack to the head just be careful doing the job as the coils are worth well over a $100 dollars each and I'd advise using platinum plugs which i think are standard so you dont have to do it again soon :)
