More trauma with the 1991 Legacy, AWD, automatic. 189,000 miles

Car was sitting for 3 weeks. Now the gear shift is very stiff and hard to move. shifted fine when I parked it 3 weeks ago. Warmed the car up. Problem still there. Any ideas? THanks.

I guess I'll ask the obvious question; have you visually inspected the entire linkage to make sure that something isn't causing an obstruction (like a dead rodent, or rodent's nest, etc.)?
